About the Washington Lions Club
Founded on June 4, 1941, the Lions Club of Washington has a long tradition of service and community leadership. From the start, its members united around a shared commitment focused on community improvement and service.
The first civic project was to establish the Washington Ambulance Association in 1942 - an effort that remains the club’s cornerstone project today. Over the years, the club has supported countless local initiatives, from youth programs and healthcare services to recreation and public safety.
More than eight decades later, the Lions Club of Washington continues its mission of serving the community with the same spirit of generosity and purpose that defined its founding.
The Lions Club of Washington is guided by the international Lions motto: "We Serve." Our members believe that the communities in which we live and work are better places when neighbors take an active role in their improvement.
